The Hot Rolling Process of 5383 Aluminum
On the basis of 5083 aluminum alloy, 5183, 5283A, 5283B, and 5383 aluminum alloys are developed by reducing the content of Fe and Si impurities, slightly increasing the content of Cu and Zn, and adding a small amount of Zr.
Among them, 5383 aluminum has excellent formability, corrosion resistance and yielding properties. Its strength and welding performance are better than 5083 aluminum alloy. The hardness has also increased by 10%, and these improvements have reduced the number of welded boats. Like 5083, 5383 aluminum sheets are also favored by manufacturers of large high-speed ships. How about it hot rolling process? Lets have a look together.
5383 aluminium alloy ingot is rolled into a hot-rolled plate with a size of 6 mm × 120 mm after a total deformation of 90% at a rolling temperature of 440 ℃ ~ 460 ℃. It has low thermal plasticity, and the processing rate in the first passes should not be too large, and it should be controlled at 3% to 5%.
In the middle of rolling, the hot working structure increases, but the core of the ingot is still in the as-cast structure, and there is no plastic deformation. At this time, the processing rate should be increased to make the rolled piece cross the fragile zone as soon as possible, and the processing rate of the pass is controlled at 5 %~15%.
In the later stage of rolling, in order to compensate for the heat loss of rolling, and to ensure the final structure and performance of the hot-rolled product, a processing rate of 15% to 35% can be used.
In the hot rolling process, in order to reduce the uneven deformation and reduce the cracks at the edge of the plate, vertical roll hemming is used to increase the compressive stress on the side, so that the cracks at the edge of the 5383 aluminum sheet are welded together.
