Aluminum Sheet Profile and Aluminum Groove for Ship Building

Aluminum sheet profiles like ribbed plates are plane structures containing several profiles parallel to each other in one direction. The application of stiffened aluminum sheets shows obvious advantages in structural performance, hull quality, construction cycle, etc.

Haomei Aluminum can provide stiffened panels with different widths of 250mm, 275m, and 380mm, and thicknesses of 3~8mm. It has 36 sets of all domestic ribbed plate profile molds, which greatly shortens the production cycle from 45~60 days of mold opening, mold trial, extrusion, and post-processing to 7 days.

Our friction stir welding production line can realize the production of ship ribbed plates with a maximum single profile width of 600mm and a maximum length of 16200mm (expandable to 32m). The equipment is a single-sided cantilever beam structure, which can achieve unlimited width of ribbed plates. We can achieve high reliability and deformation-free welding of ribbed plate profiles and welded side plates.

Friction stir welding is an excellent solid phase welding process, especially suitable for the assembly of long straight welds of ribbed aluminum plate. The heat input in the friction stir welding process is relatively small compared to the fusion welding process, and there is no melting and solidification of metal at the joint.

The main advantages of stir friction welding are as follows: (1) The microstructure of the heat affected zone of the weld joint changes little. The residual stress is relatively low, and the welded workpiece is not easy to deform; (2) It can complete the welding of long welds, large cross-sections, and different positions at one time; (3) The operation process is easy to realize mechanization and automation, the equipment is simple, the energy consumption is low, the efficiency is high, and the requirements for the working environment are low; (4) There is no need for aluminum welding wire and protective gas; (5) It can weld weld materials sensitive to thermal cracks, suitable for welding dissimilar materials; (6)The welding process is safe, pollution-free, smoke-free, radiation-free, etc.

6082 aluminium boat extrusions like aluminium groove are widely used for ship building. 6082 aluminum alloy is a heat-treatable and strengthened aluminum alloy with medium strength, good weldability and corrosion resistance. Its T6 state has high mechanical properties and is widely used in mechanical parts, commercial vehicles, railway structures and shipbuilding.
