Marine Aluminum Extrusions 6082

Marine aluminum extrusions are mainly used in superstructures such as hull structures and compartments in ships and ocean engineering. At the same time, small-diameter aluminum alloy pipes are usually used as pipes, and large-diameter pipes and rods are used for hull structures, mast components, and beams. etc. In order to make the hull lightweight, some thin-walled profiles are sometimes used on the hull structure.

The 6082 aluminum rod belongs to the s heat-treatable and strengthened aluminum alloy, which has good extrusion processing and forging performance, good anodic oxidation and corrosion resistance. At the same time, it has medium strength and can still maintain good operability after annealing. It is mainly used in mechanical structures, including rods, plates, pipes and profiles.

6082 aluminum alloy has similar but not identical mechanical properties to 6061 alloy. Its T6 state has high mechanical properties. The O and T4 states of alloy 6082 are suitable for bending and forming, and its T5 and T6 states are suitable for good mechanical properties.

Aluminum alloy 6082 is a very commonly used aluminum alloy product in Europe, and it is also highly used in the United States. 6082 aluminum alloy generally has very good processing characteristics and very good anodic reactivity. Commonly used anodizing methods include removal of impurities, dyeing, coating, etc.

Marine aluminum extrusions are mainly used in high-speed ships, patrol work boats, sailboats, car and passenger ferries, etc. The application parts include ship side, bottom outer plate, keel, deck, engine pedestals, etc. The main alloys include 5083, 5A01, 5A30, 6082,etc.
