High Quality 6082 Aluminum Boat Extrusion and Aluminum Panels for Ships
Aluminum alloys have low density and have good mechanical properties, processing properties and excellent corrosion resistance, so they have been widely used in the civil industry and aviation fields.
In a dry atmospheric environment, the oxide film on the surface of aluminum alloy is stable and has good corrosion resistance. However, its corrosion resistance drops significantly in a humid atmosphere, especially in the presence of Cl-, the corrosion of aluminum alloys will be greatly accelerated.
The marine aluminum sheet and extrusions have good corrosion resistance. They belong to he 5000 (5083, 5086, 5754) series and the 6000 (6082, 6005A, 6351, 6061) series. They are chosen for their level of mechanical properties, ease of weld assembly and excellent corrosion resistance in marine environments.
The composition of high quality plate 6082 has two main characteristics: firstly, it contains appropriate amounts of Mn and Cr; secondly, Alloying elements such as Mn and Cr can hinder recrystallization or hinder the growth and refinement of recrystallized grains during extrusion and after extrusion.
Mn and Cr elements will increase the quenching sensitivity of 6082 aluminum alloy. Moreover, it is easy for α(Al) to segregate seriously within the crystal, resulting in a coarse-grained structure of the extruded product and reducing the anodizing and coloring effect of the profile.
The optimized range of Mn content is 0. 6% ~ 0.65% and Cr content should be controlled below 0.15%, and the total amount of (Mn Cr) should be controlled within the range of 0.70% ~ 0.80%. The Mg2Si content should be controlled at 1.5% ~ 1.6%, and the excess Si content should be controlled at about 0.3%.
The biggest feature of 6082 aluminum alloy Therefore, three points should be paid attention to in the melting and casting process: Firstly, the melting temperature should be controlled at 740 ~ 760 ℃ and stirred evenly to ensure that the metal is completely melted, the temperature is accurate, and the composition is uniform. Secondly, casting should consider that metal Mn increases the viscosity of the alloy, reduces its fluidity, and affects the casting performance of the alloy. The casting speed should be appropriately reduced and controlled within the range of 80~100mm/min. The third is to increase the cooling intensity, speed up the cooling rate, and eliminate crystal segregation.
6082 aluminum boat extrusion has high deformation resistance and high mechanical properties. The alloy structure is improved through the homogenization treatment process, achieving three main effects: fully solid dissolving the Mg2Si phase; eliminating intragranular segregation; transforming the β (Al9Fe2Si2) phase into the α (Al12Fe3Si2) phase and refining the iron-containing phase particles.
