Aluminium Rod and Groove for Boat Building
Aluminum welding wire is widely used in ship welding. It has good electrical and thermal conductivity, which enables the heat to be transferred quickly and evenly during welding, reducing welding deformation and heat-affected zone.
At the same time, aluminium rods for welding have strong corrosion resistance, can effectively resist the erosion of seawater, and ensure the stability of the ship structure. Different types of aluminum welding wire are suitable for different aluminum alloys.
5183 aluminum welding wire: Its magnesium content is 4.3 - 5.2%, and the maximum chromium content is 0.25%. It can provide strong and durable welds, with higher strength and better corrosion resistance in seawater environments. It is often used to weld 5083, 5086, 5454, 5456 and other aluminum alloy plates, which are widely used in shipbuilding.
5356 aluminum welding wire: contains 4.5-5.5% magnesium. Its highest chromium content is 0.20%, has a certain tensile strength, and is the most basic welding wire for aluminum-magnesium alloy. It is widely used and is often used in ship welding. It is also suitable for aluminum alloy welding in the automotive, high-speed rail and other industries.
5087 aluminum welding wire: contains 4.5% magnesium and a small amount of manganese, chromium and zirconium. It is suitable for welding aluminum alloy structures with high requirements for strength, crack resistance, bending resistance and corrosion resistance. The addition of zirconium in the welding wire plays a role in refining the metal structure of the weld. It is suitable for welding aluminum alloys in marine engineering, shipbuilding and other fields.
1561 aluminum welding wire: has good corrosion resistance, thermal cracking resistance, high strength, good forgeability, and the weld is still white after anodizing, which can provide good color matching for the welded joint. For some alloys, the strength of the welded joint is slightly higher, and it is used in shipbuilding, refrigeration, boilers and aerospace industries.
Welding methods
MIG welding: This is a common method used in marine aluminum welding wire welding. Its advantages are high welding efficiency, stable welding process, good weld quality, and it is suitable for welding thicker aluminum alloy plates.
Tungsten inert gas welding (TIG): This method has high welding precision and can well control the welding heat input. It is suitable for welding thin plates and marine aluminum alloy structural parts with extremely high welding quality requirements and complex shapes. However, its welding efficiency is relatively low and the cost is high.
Aluminium boat extrusions have played an increasingly important role in modern shipbuilding due to their many advantages. Among them, aluminum troughs, as an important type of marine aluminum profiles, have a wide range of unique applications.
1. Hull structure reinforcement: Aluminum grooves can play an important role in some areas that need to be reinforced. For example, in the hull frame part, aluminum grooves can be used as supporting structural parts to enhance the overall strength of the hull, improve the ship's ability to resist the impact of wind and waves during navigation, and ensure the safe navigation of the ship. Its high strength and lightweight characteristics can not only meet the structural strength requirements, but also will not increase the weight of the hull too much.
2. Ship equipment support: Various equipment on ships, such as engines, pumps, compressors, etc., require reliable support and fixation. Aluminum troughs are an ideal choice for equipment brackets due to their good rigidity, load-bearing capacity, and corrosion resistance. It can ensure long-term stable operation of equipment in harsh marine environments and reduce the possibility of equipment failure due to support problems.
3. Ship interior decoration and bulkheads: Aluminum channels are also widely used in ship interior decoration and bulkhead components. For example, in the installation of cabin wall panels, the use of aluminum channels can play a dual role of fixing and decoration.
4. Ship deck related applications: On ship decks, groove aluminium can be used to make handrails, guardrails, stairs and other anti-slip equipment. Its corrosion resistance and wear resistance make these deck facilities more durable and easy to maintain. Under long-term exposure to seawater and sunlight, aluminum grooves can maintain good performance and ensure the safety of crew and passengers on the deck.
5. Ship hatches and door and window structures: Ship hatches and door and window structures have high requirements for sealing and safety. The lightweight and corrosion-resistant properties of aluminum channels make them suitable materials for hatch and door and window frames.
